This lesson covers the following letters. Go to the alphabet chart and click on each of these letters. Read about its sounds, shapes, and connections. Then try the exercises listed.
Notice how the breakers from Lesson 1 will now be used in their final (as well as detached) forms.

Exercise 3A

Copy the following Urdu words. Now try to read them aloud. Click on each word to read it. Did you read it correctly?
For those who know Hindi: if you want to see how the word is written in Hindi, roll the mouse over the “Hindi Hint” link.

Exercise 3B

Click on the ear button to hear an Urdu word. Try to write the word in Urdu. To check your word, click on the eye button. For those who know Hindi: click on the “Hindi Hint” button and try to transcribe the phrase from Hindi to Urdu.
